We’ve just wrapped up our second-ever trade show — filled with fresh conversations, great energy, and exciting opportunities ahead.
Events like the VM & Display Show are brilliant opportunities to engage with the visual merchandising community and most importantly, they’re a chance to show people what Melita really does — how we think, how we work, and how we bring retail displays to life.
Here’s how we approached it this time around:
🏁 We Treated Ourselves Like the Client
We gave ourselves a proper brief - F1 themed, fast-paced and full of Melita energy.
From the start, it was a team effort - lots of getting heads together, bouncing ideas around, figuring out what was possible and pushing for the best execution.
Our goals?
We kept sustainability front of mind too using eco-friendly materials throughout. The hero being our centre table, finished with repurposed plastic board.
🏁 The Stand Was Fully Designed In-House...
We didn't outsource a thing. We approached it just like we would a client project: thoughtful design, smart use of space and materials that make sense - both practically and sustainably.
All materials were carefully chosen to reflect what we use every single day - so anyone who came to chat could see exactly what we're working with.
We also added something new this year — a live testimonial wall, built into the stand. Real words from real clients, right there in full view. Because when people say we deliver, we don’t want to keep it to ourselves.
With project management handled in-house too, it was a true team effort from concept to execution — with every part owned and delivered by the people who know the work inside out.
🏁 And Of Course — We Built It Ourselves
Everything* on the stand was made right here at Melita HQ. CNC cut, printed on our printers, hand-finished, packed, and transported by the same team that delivers our client work.
No show-build specialists. No hired help. Just us.
We even tested parts of it in advance, because we know how important the install is. (And because none of us wanted to be standing at 9pm the night before with a drill and a panic...)
🎥 One of our favourite details? A full POV video following the tiny Scalextric route, with stop-offs highlighting every part of our process, end to end. A fun, clever way to walk people through how we work — without saying a word.
*Okay — full transparency, the Scalextric track and those tiny buildings weren’t made by us from scratch. But we printed them, finished them, and brought the whole thing together to feel 100% Melita.
🏁 We Had Real Conversations
What we loved most? Talking to people.
Not just pitching, but actually chatting — about projects, timelines, ideas, those ever critical headaches we aim to alleviate. We had conversations with brands, agencies, store teams and marketing leads — some familiar, some brand new.
We talked through material options. Shared how we handle fast turnarounds. Showed examples of work we’re proud of. And most of all, we listened.
🏁 It Wasn't Just The Stand On Show - It Was The Team Behind It
We're not slick salespeople. We're the team that sees it through - from concept to final install.
This show was a chance to do what we do best: plan smart, build well, fix problems fast and deliver with zero drama. The stuff that really matters when you're trusting someone with your brand.
The Scalextric comp definitely drew in the crowds, but what kept them talking was the work, the process and the brilliant people behind it.
We're not here to impress for a five minute pitch - we're here to be the team you can rely on, again and again.
💬 Thinking about working together? Whether it’s an idea, a deadline, or just a headache — we’re ready when you are.
